Lucid School Dream
·2 min read·388 words
The dream was already in progress when I found myself in a high school classroom. I became fully lucid and, finding the class boring, decided to stand up and leave, hoping to shift into a more interesting dream. As I walked out of the school, I passed a classroom containing a girl I had a past obsession with. Recognizing it was a dream, I initially saw no value in approaching her, viewing it merely as interacting with my subconscious. However, I didn't want to simply ignore this signal. Instead, I decided to walk to the front of the classroom and meditate.
With my eyes closed, the classroom and all its occupants began a psychedelic transformation, dissolving into my meditation. While I still felt my eyes were closed in the 'upper' dream, it seemed I had spontaneously created a new dream reality through this meditation. This new dream was vibrant and colorful, and I had full recognition that it was a complete dream experience. Curious about this newfound power within dreams, I decided to test it. I stood up within this new meditative dream (the 'upper' dream was no longer my focus).
I announced to the 'kids' that they were contestants on a game show, and I was the host. I tried to conduct a couple of games, which were perhaps too complex for the dream environment and didn't unfold as I initially intended. Nevertheless, I was still able to manipulate the dream's contents. Towards the end, I began to inspect the dream's details. I was impressed by the intricate details; all the children looked remarkably real and bore striking resemblances to kids from my old high school. Then I realized these were not the same children from the initial 'upper' dream. For instance, the girl from before was absent. One guy, who resembled an old friend, shrieked 'ooh'.
Just before I was about to depart, I asked the kids in the dream, who also seemed to be lucid and aware of their presence, what they wanted me to know. We spoke, but I cannot recall most of what was said, especially towards the end. The last child asked, 'Did you enjoy this?' I responded, 'Enjoyed what?' And in his smile, I suddenly realized that the entire class was lucid. At that moment, the dream collapsed into the void.
