Beggar Death
·1 min read·215 words
My friend and I were traversing an interstate. I was already lucid, demonstrating to him that we were in a dream by phasing through the car and performing other fantastical feats. Suddenly, our car came to a standstill beside the highway. As I went to investigate, a group of beggars caught my eye. Realizing we were in a dream, I felt compelled to help them; there was no reason for them to endure such hardship in this realm. I called them over, announcing I would give them a million dollars.
Opening the trunk, I found only a hundred-dollar bill. I thought nothing of it, deciding to duplicate them on the spot. However, the duplication wasn't going smoothly. My first attempt yielded nothing, and the beggars began to eye me strangely, as if I were mocking them, their expressions turning to anger. On the second try, I managed to duplicate the hundred into two hundred dollars. The beggars remained unimpressed, clearly thinking this process would take forever. As I continued to duplicate, the bills transformed into strange denominations—ones, twos, even fifteen hundreds—and took on the appearance of Monopoly money. The beggars suddenly went berserk and began attacking us. Despite knowing I was in a dream, I defended myself, and in the ensuing chaos, I killed them.
